Who We Are

Cherohala Cycles & Supplies opened for business in February 2020 by us, Steve and Sharron Thompson.  As part-time cycling enthusiasts, we recognized the number of cyclists that were flocking to our town each week to enjoy the roads and gravel routes in the Tellico Mountains.  We wanted to provide cycling parts and accessories for these cyclists, along with bicycles to locals to encourage the growth of cycling in our area.  We also included some cycling and outdoor themed home décor in our soft opening.

The Covid-19 Pandemic has had an monumental impact on the cycling industry.  Not only were we forced to close our doors for several weeks early in 2020, but our supply of bicycles was eliminated and cycling products slowed.  The demand in the home décor section, however, continued to rise.  Over the next 18 months it became clear that a rebranding of our business was in order.  While we still sell bicycle parts, accessories, and apparel, the business of collectibles and crafts has blossomed.  With that knowledge, great prayer, and business model research we formed Mountaintop Collectibles as our new sister business.  The two businesses will work in tandem at our present location inside the Museum Marketplace at the Charles Hall Museum & Heritage Center Building 2 in Tellico Plains.
